The heartbroken owner of an African grey parrot missing from its Co Down home is appealing for help to find her.
Stevie-Louise Dempster said her beloved Lucy escaped her outdoor cage on Sunday morning and that her other parrot hasn't settled since.
"I'm heartbroken and feeling desperate as there is no sign of her near the house," she said.
Stevie-Louise lives in the Ballymoney Road area of Craigantlet and said she has been scouring the neighbourhood for Lucy since.
"She escaped from her outdoor cage on Sunday morning," the worried bird-lover continued. "There is no sign of her here and I've been looking since I discovered her missing at 10am.
"She was put out at 8am. Then I took dogs for a walk, and when I got back saw the empty cage. I have another parrot who has been calling out for her, but last night I had to put him back in the house because we had very heavy rain.
"We live on a farm so there are many dangers that face her, as well as all the open fields and very few neighbours," Stevie-Louise added.
"I've received lots of messages that give me hope but I'm feeling really defeated. I hope she seeks out people because I'm sure by now she is hungry. She may be hiding because she is scared. I'm really desperate to find her."
