Miss Newcastle organisers have broken their silence to post about one of their former winners going into the Love Island villa.
It was revealed late on Sunday night that Geordie girl Rebecca Gormley would be entering the show as a new arrival on Monday and the 21-year-old has already sparked quite a reaction on social media, with many viewers predicting she'll spice things up.
And Miss Newcastle are throwing their support behind who triumphed in the annual contest in 2018, before going onto finish sixth in Miss England.
Taking to Instagram just before Love Island on Monday, they posted "Wishing the best of luck to our ‘Miss Newcastle’ 2018 /19 @RebeccaGormleyx as she enters @itv2 @loveisland tonight!"
Rebecca, who is a part-time model and carer, won Miss Newcastle while working in customer services at EE as well as being a part-time shot girl.
On her way to winning the Miss Newcastle final two years ago at the city's County Hotel, she raised £2,000 for the Chronicle Sunshine Fund by taking part in a number of charity events including a skydive and took the title Miss Bare Face in Miss England.
Rebecca is the second former Miss Newcastle champion to appear on Love Island after Sophie Gradon appeared on the show in 2016 before her death two years later.
After winning Miss Newcastle, Sophie also went onto win Miss Great Britain. Love Island attracted controversy in 2016 after Sophie's fellow Islander Zara Holland was stripped of her title for having sex on the show.
