Sept. 26--Recognizing the void left by the conclusion of "Mad Men," the non-profit Glendale Historical Society will host a tour of six midcentury modern homes in some of Glendale's most historic neighborhoods during the "Mad for Modern" home tour on Sunday .
The self-driven tour will include architect A. Quincy Jones' 1950 "Webber House," which is currently being restored; Edward Kirtlan's 1958 hillside "Barker House," which features views of downtown Los Angeles;, the "Conway House," a 1959 modernist classic designed by William Duquette; Karl Schwertdfeger's 1961 post-and-beam "Ruzicka House"; the striking two-story 1963 "Peterka House" designed by architect David Alexman; and the 1965 Verdugo Woodlands residence of Denver Markwith.
"Mad for Modern" runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Guests will drive themselves to the featured houses for docent-led tours of each home. Advance tickets are $30 for TGHS members and $40 for the general public.
