I'm grateful to Craig Silverman who runs a valuable site, Regret the Error, for pointing out that the Daily Mirror published an apology last Saturday. Seven days before it had wrongly named and pictured Amjad Sarwar as one of the suspects who had been arrested in the alleged plot to blow up planes. He had neither been questioned nor arrested, and the paper apologised for the false allegation and for the distress and embarrassment caused to him. The Mirror was also one of the papers that apologised to Koser Zaman (see TV and papers apologise to woman). (Via regrettheerror.com)
