Miriam-Teak Lee and the cast of & Juliet have come together for an uplifting lockdown performance.
Singing from their own homes, the stars delivered a rendition of Backstreet Boys’ I Want It That Way, with the help of the band.
Lee, who plays Juliet in the updated story, is joined by Oliver Tompsett, Jordan Luke Gage, Cassidy Janson, Arun Blair-Mangat, Melanie La Barrie, Tim Mahendran and many more to sing Max Martin’s tune. David Badella gives a particularly stand-out comic performance.
The show features songs written by prolific pop songwriter Martin, including Baby One More Time by Britney and Since U Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson.
An updated version of Shakespeare’s tale, the story follows Juliet, who decides that rather than taking her own life after Romeo dies, she’s going to take a trip to Paris with her friends.
Directed by Luke Sheppard, with a book by David West Read, the musical opened in the West End in November. & Juliet dominated the Olivier Award nominations when they were announced in March, picking up nine nods.
