Miriam Rivera's husband says he fears she was murdered and her suicide staged

Miriam Rivera's devastated husband fears she was murdered and her suicide staged.

Transgender model and reality show contestant Miriam was found hanged in 'mysterious circumstances.'

Miriam, who found fame in 2004 series There's Something About Miriam, was found dead at her home on February 5 at the age of 38.

Her husband Daniel Cuervo has spoken out to say he fears Miriam's death may have been 'passed off' as suicide after she refused to work as a prostitute.

He told the Daily Mail Australia, how Miriam phoned him on the day of her death to say that she was feeling unwell and had vomited blood.

Daniel said that he told her to get to hospital and she phoned him afterwards with an update which was the last time they spoke.

Two hours later Miriam was found dead at her home in Hermosillo, said Daniel.

It's alleged that Daniel tried to have Miriam flown to New York City where he is based, but her body had already been cremated and there was no opportunity to perform an autopsy.

A small memorial service was held for the reality star months after her death (Facebook)

Some months after Miriam's passing, a small low-key memorial service was held.

A close friend of the late reality star also revealed her shock at her death and said she believed Miriam had been looking forward to the future.

Jeanett Ørtoft said: "The last time I was on the phone with her, a few weeks before her death, she told me she was just about to finish a degree and was looking forward to that. She told me she wanted to write a book about her life.'

Speaking days after Miriam's death, Jeanett posted on Facebook : "The news about you being taken away from this world far too early and in this way broke my heart and left me in shock and tears.

“You made a huge difference for me and so many other people around this planet. Your life was too short, but you made it remarkable.

“I feel deeply grateful that you let me into your heart, mind and life. Thanks for all the great memories.

“We had plans about creating more this year, and I can't believe I will never see you again. At least not on this side.

"You were the shiniest star on earth, now you're the most shiny in heaven.”

Miriam became internationally known when starring on Sky 1 show There’s Something About Miriam which ran from February to March 2004

n the dating show, six straight Brits vied for the attention of the glamour model, with the show having a dramatic twist at the end, when she was revealed to be a transgender woman.

This was a huge shock to the contestants, who didn't react positively to the reveal and they all sued production company Endemol for 'conspiracy to commit sexual assault, defamation and personal injury.'

The contestants claimed the show had left them with "psychological and emotional damage" and they settled for an undisclosed fee, which has been reported to be as much as £500,000 each.

Miriam then went on to star in Big Brother Australia and became a sought after talent following the 2004 show.
