Miriam Gutierrez sees no weaknesses in Katie Taylor ahead of Wembley bout

Miriam Gutierrez doesn't believe Katie Taylor has any faults or flaws in her game ahead of their world title fight this weekend.

The Bray boxer is undefeated since turning professional and is looking to extend her record to 17-0 in London on Saturday night.

But earlier this week, undefeated English boxer and WBC light-welterweight champion Chantelle Cameron claimed she had spotted "weaknesses" in Taylor and said she would make her "crumble" in a fight.

The undisputed lightweight champ hit back at the comments by saying she is "not the type of fighter who crumbles" and Gutierrez also disagreed with Cameron's analysis.

The Spaniard told The Irish Mirror: "I don't see any weaknesses in her at all. I think it's impossible to see any in her. I just have pure admiration for her and I'm looking forward to getting in the ring to fight."

Gutierrez comes into the bout as a huge underdog, but has vowed to put on a show.

She added: "It's a really lovely moment and event and it's just about enjoying it now.

"I think for this fight to have been arranged and to go ahead means that I've got the qualities that will make it a good fight.

"I always look to create something that is beautiful, that is lovely, whether it's being tactical or whatever. Just something that can look good and I can enjoy myself and entertain."

Meanwhile, Taylor was presented with a Republic of Ireland jersey by Irish players at the hotel where they are staying on Wednesday.

Seamus Coleman, Shane Duffy, Jeff Hendrick, James McClean and Darren Randolph posed for a socially distanced photo with her.

Saturday's fight takes place in the Wembley Arena, which is located beside Wembley Stadium.

Former Ireland international Taylor said: “It was great to meet up with the Irish team and to wish them well ahead of their big match at Wembley.

“I was thrilled to receive this new Irish jersey, the first of its kind, and it was fantastic to see my name and my old number 10 from my own Ireland career. That means so much to me.

She added: “I’ve always had great support from the team over the years and loved my own days playing in the green jersey.

"Football has given the country some of our greatest sporting moments over the years and hopefully the lads can kick off an Irish double at Wembley on Thursday night."
