Miranda Kerr's naked Harper's Bazaar front cover pulled from Coles supermarket

A supermarket has pulled thousands of copies of Harper’s Bazaar's January issue after receiving complaints from customers.

The Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr appears on the front page dressed only in her shoes, with her arm covering her breasts.

Coles supermarket in Australia has since removed the magazine from its shelves saying it was concerned it might upset shoppers who had children.

“In response to feedback from our customers, many of whom shop with their children, we removed the magazine from sale earlier this week," Coles said in an emailed statement to Mashable Australia

Harper's Bazaar editor-in-chief Kellie Hush told smh.com.au that she was "disappointed" with the decision.

She said: "The cover is a beautiful artistic image taken by one of Australia's best photographers Steven Chee and I stand by that.”

Coles has over 750 stores across Australia and in August stopped selling Zoo magazine which was later axed by its publisher Bauer, who also publish Harper’s Bazaar.

Harper's Bazaar Australia is a high-end fashion magazine that showcases luxury labels.
