Miraculous escape for driver who walked away with minor injuries after car flipped in horror crash

A driver walked away with minor injuries after a car flipped onto its roof in a horror crash. Police were scrambled to Whitworth near Rochdale earlier today after receiving reports of a collision.

The driver of the car only suffered cuts and bruises. Officers from Lancashire Police said the driver has been summonsed to appear in court.

A picture from the scene showed the shocking aftermath of the scene on Tong End, just outside a pub. The road was taped off with police and the fire service both attending the emergency response.

"Officers from Team 2 Rossendale have attended a report of an road traffic collision on Tong End, Whitworth," officers on the Rossendale Police Facebook account said. "It is suspected that a contributing factor of the collision is both speed and the use of psychoactive substances, also referred to as Noz.

"The driver in this instance is very fortunate to be walking away with a few cuts and grazes, however the results could have been much worse. The driver has been issued with a summons to court for the offences."
