The starting quarterback spot won’t be the only competition going down between Jacksonville’s Gardner Minshew and presumptive first overall pick Trevor Lawrence. There will also be a bitter rivalry between the two when it comes to which of their iconic sets of locks will rule the town.
Minshew rose to national prominence in 2019 in part due to his play and part due to his persona. Known for his mullet and mustache, he embraced much of the media attention. But now Lawrence and his iconic long blonde hair come to town.
On an episode of the Pro Football Focus Forecast, Minshew discussed the image rivalry in playful terms.

“I think it’s ‘what do you want?'” he said. “Do you want the guy that’s going to go meet your parents, going to be very nice, going to open the doors? Or do you want the guy that you’re going to go out with Friday night and just have a ball with, you never know where it’s going to end up. I think it’s two schools of thought there.”
The pair of passers may be battling it out on the field sooner rather than later, but it’s good to see that Jacksonville’s incumbent seems to be having fun with the situation.
