An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1 hit Muang district of Lamphun province in the North on Sunday morning. There were no initial reports of damage or casualties.
The Thai Meteorological Department's seismology office reported that the quake occurred at 7.39am with its epicentre in Muang district of Lamphun, about 3 kilometres underground.
The quake was felt as far away as Hang Dong, Saraphi and Muang district of neighbouring Chiang Mai province.
There were no initial reports of injuries or damage.
