Minor girl pretends to be older to marry, booked

HISAR: Police registered a case against a minor girl (16) and her adult boyfriend (30), as she claimed to be a major and got married and obtained protection order from a Hisar court by concealing the facts. She was personating as her elder sister.

The court also dismissed her protection petition and ordered the police to register a case against both and police arrested the two.

Hisar police said Civil Line police station has registered a case on the complaint of Mukesh, reader to district sessions judge, Hisar against Kuldeep and a minor girl under sections 419 (cheating by personation), 420 (cheating) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to the court record, on September 10, a minor girl and a man had sought protection order and claimed that both are majors and have solemnised the marriage on September 3 at Rivaj Vivah Sewa Samiti, Arya Nagar Hisar and also placed their marriage certificate.

Kuldeep placed photocopies of Aadhaar card and Pan card showing his date of birth as October 15, 1991 (about 30 years) whereas a minor girl had placed a photocopy of Aadhaar card showing her date of birth as July 13, 2000 on record. They also placed their Covid-19 report on file, which has been reported as negative. Court issued the notice to their family members for September 16 after their claim.

On September 16, older sister of the minor girl, appeared before the court and recorded her statement stating that she is married with Rakesh and her younger sister is minor and according to school record her date of birth is March 25, 2005 (about 16 years old). She said her sister got a protection order from this court by using her name and Aadhaar card.

After this statement, the court dismissed the protection petition and ordered the police to register a case of forgery and cheating with court and said in the present case, the petitioners have obtained the protection order from this court after concealing the real facts from the court and after forging documents.

Police said after registering a case, it’s investigation has been handed over to assistant sub-inspector Nater Pal and both accused have been arrested.
