CTA Yellow Line service resumed with delays Friday after a fire near the Dempster station in north suburban Skokie.

Trains were stopped as of 6:52 a.m. because of reports of “a minor fire at track level” near the station, 5001 Dempster St., according to service alerts from the CTA.

Service on the line was fully suspended by 7:11 a.m., but trains were moving again with residual delays by 7:17 a.m., the CTA said.

[Major Delays] Yellow Line trains are running w/residual delays following earlier fire department activity at Dempster-Skokie. Service is resuming, allow extra time.
