Mino Raiola tells Matthijs de Ligt which Premier League club to join in transfer window

Matthijs de Ligt has been urged to make a decision on his future in the next week.

The Ajax defender is the hottest property in world football after some excellent performances in their run to the Champions League.

He admitted earlier this week that there is a 'logical option' as he weighs up his future and reports in Spain suggest there are five clubs to choose from.

The interest of Barcelona and Manchester United has been known for some time but Liverpool , Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are also in the mix.

SPORT claims Ajax are looking to seek clarity on his future in the next week with a 'final auction' for De Ligt set.

His agent Mino Raiola is overseeing the negotiations and the report suggests he favours two clubs above the rest - Liverpool and Juventus.

The Reds have played down their interest in the Dutchman but are said to be the biggest rivals to Barcelona for his signature.

Juventus have reportedly tabled a £75m offer for De Ligt, while there is big money on the table from PSG.

But it is stated Manchester United now face missing out on the teenager as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer considers other options.

Barcelona remain in pole position to sign De Ligt, although they are refusing to pay huge sums to land him.

They spurned the opportunity to agree a deal during last season, as they did with teammate Frenkie de Jong.

Raiola has reportedly increased his wage demands for the defender but Barca hope the prospect of playing for the club will see them win the race for his signature.

De Ligt is likely to start for Holland in their UEFA Nations League clash with England on Thursday.
