Mino Raiola has delivered an update on the future of Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt amid continued rumours that Chelsea will try to sign the 22-year-old in the future.
A last-ditch bid was made for his services during the summer window once a seemingly nailed-on deal for Joules Kounde fell through but it was a case of too little, too late for Thomas Tuchel and his side.
Chelsea currently sit top of the Premier League table but there will likely be a drive to strengthen in January once the transfer window opens again as Tuchel looks to bolster his side to help sustain their title push.
Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva and Andreas Christensen are all currently sat on contracts that will expire come the end of the season, so new defensive recruits are a must at Stamford Bridge.
De Ligt, who is valued at £63million on Transfermarkt, burst onto the scene with the Ajax side that reached the 2018-19 Champions League semi-finals.
He was promptly sold to Juventus for £77million but has been in and out of Massimiliano Allegri's side since the manager returned in the summer.
As the rumours mount, De Ligt's agent Raiola carried out an interview with Italian TV network Rai, where he delivered an update on the defender's future.
“Staying at Juventus or leaving? We should do this interview in May… it’s November now. It’s not time to talk about it,” he said via Fabrizio Romano.
While the Italian certainly did not rule out his client leaving Juventus at some point in the future, he did appear to rule out a departure during the January window.
