Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly thrown their hat into the ring in the race to sign Erling Haaland next summer.
The Ligue 1 club are facing up to the prospect of losing superstar forward Kylian Mbappe, who continues to stall over signing a new contract.
With Mbappe's current deal due to expire in June, and Real Madrid confident they can persuade him on a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu, PSG are now considering possible replacements.
Having already landed Lionel Messi this summer in a blockbuster deal, their need is not particularly pressing.
But the thought of letting Haaland move elsewhere without a fight appears to have brought PSG chiefs into the equation, with the Norwegian striker's £68million release clause set to become active at the end of the season.

That fee still represents a bargain for a player attracting the world's biggest clubs.
And his agent Mino Raiola is now looking to reap the full rewards for his client with some staggering salary demands.
Gazzetta dello Sport claim Raiola is demanding a basic wage package worth an astonishing £43million a year - and that's not including bonuses.
Given Haaland is hitting the back of the net at a frightening rate, a goal bonus on top of that alone would be a huge expense, let alone if he is able to lead his team to a major trophy.
Madrid, too, are keen on snapping up Haaland in what would be one of the most fearsome attacks in recent memory should they manage to pair him with Mbappe.
Manchester United are keeping close tabs, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer retaining strong links with Haaland from their time together at Molde.
Chelsea's interest appears to have diminished following their acquisition of Romelu Lukaku in the summer, while Juventus and Barcelona would struggle to meet Raiola's demands, despite both being fond of the player.
Bayern Munich and Liverpool have also been linked, but signing Haaland would be a huge statement with their respective current wage structures.
One of the favourites for his signature remains Manchester City, who could bankroll a bid after missing out on Tottenham's Harry Kane last summer.
Raiola has already been on an extensive trip across Europe to drum up interest in Haaland, accompanied by the player's father Alfe-Inge.
Borussia Dortmund are already said to have rebuffed approaches for Haaland in the summer despite the offers being in excess of the £68m they would receive if he leaves in 2022.
Where will Haaland end up next summer? Have your say below.

But Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke insists the club will not be forced to sell their star man.
"It’s all b******," Watzke told German television channel Sport1 regarding a guaranteed impending exit. "Some experts say, ‘They’re in the stock market, they’re going to have to sell Haaland next summer.’
"The decision as to whether or not to sell someone at our club is taken exclusively by the board."
Watzke's X-rated response came in regards to reports Haaland and Raiola have a verbal agreement with Dortmund that they will help facilitate his exit.
But he added: "It has not yet been decided if he will leave next summer. We’ll see."
