Mino Raiola says "moron" Man Utd fans who attacked Ed Woodward's home should be locked up

Mino Raiola has condemned the "morons" who attacked Ed Woodward's family home and said that the Manchester United executive vice-chairman has his full support.

Footage emerged on Tuesday night of a group of around 20 to 30 balaclava-clad United fans throwing flares at the £2million Cheshire mansion which is home to Woodward, his wife and their young twins.

The family weren't home at the time of the incident, which is also believed to have included fans spraying graffiti on the gates of the home.

Supporters are angry at United's recent underperformance on and off the pitch, with Woodward taking the blame for many of the recent failings in the transfer market.

Agent Raiola - who represents United's Paul Pogba and the club's former target Erling Haaland- has seen his relationship with Woodward and United come under scrutiny after he criticised the way the club operates in the transfer market.

But he says there is no excuse for the attack on Woodward's property, and called for those responsible to face action.

“If anyone has used me as a reason to create any anger towards Ed, they are totally in the wrong because my relationship with Ed is good, it is professional, and we don’t always need to agree but that’s normal," Raiola told The Athletic.

"What happened last night is not normal. It is violence and I condemn any type of violence. These guys are morons and this is criminal behaviour.

“These people need to be locked up and re-educated. This cannot be part of sport. This is sport — S P O R T. This is not a question of life and death, it is EN-TER-TAIN-MENT.

“Do you think people attack the house of Brad Pitt if he makes a bad movie? Or does Quentin Tarantino get death threats because his film was not good?

"There is no reason or excuse, none whatsoever for this and Ed Woodward has my full support and solidarity.”

United are expected to wrap up the signing of Bruno Fernandes in the coming days.
