Mino Raiola makes fresh statement on Paul Pogba future at Manchester United

Mino Raiola has released a new statement on the future of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, hinting that a January transfer won't be possible.

Raiola dropped a bombshell last week on the eve of United's game against RB Leipzig, claiming Pogba's United career was "over" while touting a return to former side Juventus.

Pogba broke his silence on Raiola's comments on Instagram following United's Premier League draw against Manchester City and publicly defended his agent over reports published in German outlet Bild.

Raiola previously urged United to authorise a transfer for his client who is contracted until 2022 at Old Trafford. Juventus and Real Madrid are both interested in the World Cup winner but Raiola believes a summer departure is the most likely outcome due to the difficulty of conducting business in January.

"Pogba will have a great future," Raiola said. "In England, they're very sensitive when you talk about Pogba.

"I’ve just expressed my thoughts.

"I’ve said that Paul can leave in the summer, it’s hard to do top deals in January."

Pogba started the Manchester derby at the weekend and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes the midfielder's attitude has not changed despite the speculation over his future.

Solskjaer said: "I think I said during the week that this is a team game and Paul is part of this team. He's very focused on contributing when he's here.

"He's got the hunger and appetite to play and wants to play. He wants to train and he trains. There have been other players refusing to train and refusing to play - they're not here anymore of course - but Paul's not once done that."
