Mino Raiola hints at Paul Pogba transfer from Man Utd to Real Madrid

Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has revealed he wants to take “a big player” to Real Madrid.

The Italian super-agent, 52, intensified the widely-held belief that the France World Cup winner will move to the Spanish giants with yet another interview to cast doubt over Pogba’s future at Manchester United.

Raiola said: “My relationship with Real Madrid is very good. I often speak to José Angel, it’s interesting, as well as a pleasure, to talk to him about football and the events related to FIFA.

“One day I hope to bring a great champion to Real. At the moment, I have [PSG keeper Alphonse] Areola, but it’s on loan.

“This summer I would like to bring a big player to Madrid on a permanent deal. It would be a pride for me and for all my players, because Real are a great side.”

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane remains a huge admirer of his fellow French World Cup winner and, while there have been some suggestions that Pogba could remain at United following the impressive arrival of Bruno Fernandes, Raiola once again plunged his client’s situation into uncertainty.

Speaking to Spanish daily Marca, he did not name names. But he added: “I am in contact with [Real general director] Jose Angel Sanchez and I love discussing football and FIFA issues with him because his opinion interests me.

“I have great hope that one day he will be able to lead a great footballer to Real Madrid.”

Also on Raiola’s impressive roster are Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Dortmund scoring sensation, teenager Erling Haaland.

But Pogba is the Raiola client believed most likely to switch clubs this summer.

The midfielder has suffered an injury-ravaged season, and has made just two appearances since the end of September. Although he had been slated to return from ankle surgery this month, his reappearance has been delayed with all football suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Asked about Pogba’s situation, Raiola said: “Paul is going through a difficult time, but let it be clear because in England they are very sensitive, Pogba is focused on making a great end to the season with Manchester United.

“He wants to get back into the team and make a great end to the season and that United can reach the Champions League.”
