Mino Raiola clarifies PSG stance as he talks up "great appeal" amid Erling Haaland interest

Mino Raiola has clarified his comments on PSG after being criticised for his assessment of Ligue 1 amid Parisian interest in Erling Haaland.

The French giants have dominated their domestic league in recent years, partly due to their huge riches.

Such wealth allows them to be in the race to sign Haaland this summer, but the player will not be short of suitors.

Any transfer will depend on several factors, one of which is the strength of the league according to Raiola.

He was rather damning in his opinion of Ligue 1 as he said in an interview with AS: "Haaland's future also depends on the league. PSG are in the worst big league in Europe".

The super agent has since come out and cited PSG's huge appeal as well as their recent achievements.

He said on Twitter : "In my interview with newspaper AS, I would like to further clarify that I congratulated PSG.

"PSG is already one of the elite teams of European football and they are becoming 'historic' for what they are doing.

"My view of PSG is demonstrated by the great player that I have had the honour to assist to get there in the past.

"By the players that play there now and also, by the player that will for sure play there in the future.

"The evaluation I made on the French Championship reflect a common cliche in football.

"However, it is clearly not a thought of mine, as evidence by the highly competitive nature of the league, especially the latest seasons.

"Moreover, PSG has a great appeal on all of the top players I represent. Players that would all consider joining the club if the opportunity presented itself.

"I find it very strange that the French press only emphasised the phrase about the championship and not the abundance of accolades I gave to PSG."
