Mino Raiola and Erling Haaland's father, Alf-Inge, were pictured in Barcelona on Thursday ahead of proposed talks about a move to the Nou Camp.
MEN Sport understands that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and football director John Murtough have settled on the Borussia Dortmund forward as their top striker priority.
Equally, Manchester City are confident of luring the Norwegian striker to the Etihad Stadium to replace the outgoing Sergio Aguero, with a marquee striker signing planned by Pep Guardiola.
Barcelona and Real Madrid had also been linked but both clubs' financial problems have been well-documented, which raises question marks over their abilities to fund a nine-figure transfer fee.
However, Raiola and Haaland senior were spotted at Barcelona airport ahead of talks with Barcelona sporting director Joan Laporta.
Haaland has netted 33 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund this season and has chipped in with a further eight assists, making him one of the most attractive prospects in European football.
The Dortmund striker was quizzed about his future last week, whilst away on international duty with Norway.
"I still have three years of contract [at Dortmund]," said Haaland. "I am not worried about that. The media are the ones who write about it, I don't focus on those things.
"I want to improve every day. Ronaldo and Messi… I don't need to talk about them. They are the best of all time. They are still very far away."
