Minnesota vs Michigan State: How to Watch NCAA Tournament Online, Live Stream, TV Channel, Start Time

March Madness always produces upsets, and this year has been no different. #10 Minnesota tipped off the action on Thursday with an upset over #7 Louisville, and are hoping to continue their NCAA Tournament run today. Unfortunately for them, they have the #2 seed in the region, Michigan State. Tom Izzo wasn’t happy after his team’s performance against Bradley, which was too close for comfort.

#10 Minnesota

The Big Ten is often one of the most watched conferences in the NCAA, and Minnesota will hope a home audience can spur them into contention as an underdog. The Golden Gophers will make their second NCAA Tournament appearance under coach Richard Pitino after finishing with a 21-13 record (9-11 in Big Ten), their second-highest win total in the last five seasons. They impressed in the Big Ten Tournament, beating Penn State (77-72) and Purdue (75-73) before bowing out to Michigan in the semi-finals via a 76-49 collapse.

After a decisive first-round victory over No. #7, Louisville, Pitino and the Gophers will hope to build on their momentum and impressive form against Michigan State.

#2 Michigan State

Michigan State will make a 22nd consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament as coach Tom Izzo looks to advance his legacy after guiding the school to a fourth Big Ten Tournament title in eight years. The veteran shot-caller has taken the Spartans into March Madness every year since 1998 and tied for first in the Big Ten’s regular campaign to boot.

After grumbling about their #2 seed, the Spartans failed to look the part against #15 Bradley. The Braves took the Spartans to the wire, causing a beet-red Coach Izzo to let out a few well-deserved reprimands. He’ll expect more against conference foe Minnesota.
