The Government minister responsible for business will be speaking at a major economic conference for Coventry and Warwickshire businesses next month.
MP Kwasi Kwarteng, the Minister of State for Business, Energy and Clean Growth, completes the line-up for the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Economic Conference .
The event takes place on Friday, November 15 at DoubleTree by Hilton Coventry.
Mr Kwarteng was previously the Under-Secretary of State at the Department of Exiting the European Union (DExEU) before being promoted to his current role in July of this year.
He will join a range of business and civic leaders who will take to the stage to look at the economic outlook and key developments that will affect companies across Coventry and Warwickshire.
Each year, the event attracts hundreds of businesspeople as well as other figures from across the region, including local MPs and representatives from local authorities.
The conference, which is headline sponsored by WCG and supported by the Coventry & Warwickshire Careers Hubs, will hear from keynote speaker Sir Ranulph Fiennes – the record-breaking expedition leader, who was the first person to reach both the North and South Poles on foot.
An economic panel will be led by Dr Adam Marshall, director general of the British Chambers of Commerce, who will be joined by Steve Harcourt, director at Prime Accountants Group; Mark Berrisford-Smith, head economist at HSBC Commercial Banking; Jonathan Browning, chair of Coventry and Warwickshire LEP; and Sarah Pullen, commercial managing director Midlands Reach Plc.
Skills will also be on the agenda as Angela Joyce, chief executive of WCG, and Professor John Latham, Vice Chancellor of Coventry University, will take part in an ‘interview with’ session with this year’s host of the event, broadcaster and journalist Naga Munchetty, who is best known from BBC Breakfast.
Martin Reeves, chief executive of Coventry City Council, and Monica Fogarty, chief executive of Warwickshire County Council, will also be interviewed as the conference looks at the latest developments in the region.
