Dublin West TD and Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth Roderic O'Gorman is engaged to partner Ray Healy.

Ray shared the exciting news on his Twitter page on Saturday and the happy couple were flooded with people offering their congratulations.

In the social media post Ray, who is a healthcare nurse based in Dublin, shared images of champagne and two "Mr" glasses as well as a banner which says "yay, we're engaged!"

The Green Party Minister was the one to pop the question and the post is captioned: "He asked, and I said yes!"
