Mini heatwave on the way this week for Glasgow – city set to bask in sunshine and warm temperatures

The weather has been a wee bit all over the place in Glasgow lately, but it looks like we'll be in luck this week.

Scotland was battered by wind and showers yesterday – though by the looks of things, Glasgow got off relatively light.

But thankfully the dreich climes are set to lift from today – leaving plenty of sunshine and a temperature soaring into the 20s come Thursday and Friday.

It's all thanks to the Euro heatwave – that will see some continental capitals swelter in heat in excess of 40C. Can't relate.

It's brighter today, with thermometers floundering at a muggy 19C – but we can expect some sunshine and overnight clear spells, according to the Met Office.

Tomorrow, according to meteorologist Claire Nasir, is a "much better day all around" – light winds drafting in from the north and warmer temperatures of 22C.

But, come Thursday, that's when it's starting to hot up – it's set to reach 23C and Friday is expected to peak at around 24C.

Unfortunately, it's to cool off on Saturday to 22C - with scattered showers forecast in the wlate morning. Back to normal for us, then!
