Mini Cooper driver found guilty of causing serious injury by dangerous driving in Bingham

A Mini Cooper driver has been found guilty of causing serious injury to a man by dangerous driving. Craig King, 40, of Norwich Gardens, Bulwell, was convicted at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, March 18.

His co-accused, Ashley Walton, 28, Lime Tree Road, Hucknall, was found not guilty of dangerous driving but guilty to the alternative of driving without due care and attention. They were bailed before sentencing on April 29.

King, who gave evidence on Thursday, March 17, had denied was doing laps or racing before a man was seriously injured after a collision at Bingham roadabout where there was a car meet. King broke his wrists, his ribs, and his face was burned from the airbag in his unmodified black Mini, which he had got after trading in an "old and tired" Audi TT four days before the collision on June 3, 2018.

King had never been to a "car meet", which the jury has heard involved people driving around and showing their cars off.
