Mindless 'jerk' vandalises man's work van in middle of the night

A mindless "jerk" has been called out for bending the windscreen wipers and wing mirror of a man's work van.

Richard Moore, from Southport, runs his own vehicle design company, Flair Designs.

He says the past year has been hard enough, and now his van has been vandalised.

Richard told the ECHO : "It's just totally mindless.

"This is the van I use for work. Like this year hasn't been hard enough with coronavirus and the lockdowns.

"Whoever it was has bent my wipers and wing mirror. I've managed to bend the wipers back for now until I have chance to get to a garage.

"I just hope it doesn't rain..."

Richard says the van was vandalised during the early hours of Saturday in Birkdale.

Reacting to a Facebook post, a number of people have called out the person who damaged the van.

One man called the person "pondlife". Another wrote: "What a loser!"

If you witness antisocial behaviour or any other crime, report it to Merseyside Police on 101.

Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Always dial 999 in an emergency.
