Mind-boggling optical illusion tricks your brain when looking at these four cars

Optical illusions are a great way to test your observation skills, as those with a keen eye are often able to see through the tricks that an image tries to play.

This image shows four cars on a road, two from the front and two from the back. All four of these cars have one thing in common that might leave some scratching their head.

While it's clear that they are all blue, it appears that two of the cars are much smaller than the other.

However, if you take a closer look at the image, which was put together by car dealer Big Motoring World, you might notice that the placement of the cars masks a surprising revelation.

The illusion could leave some scratching their heads (Four cars, optical illusion.)

In fact, every car in the image is exactly the same size - a strange trick that our brain can play on us from time to time.

The effect is similar to the famous 'Ponzo illusion' which was created by psychologist Mario Ponzo to show that the human mind can judge an object's size based on its background.

The image below uses straight lines to demonstrate that the images are all exactly the same size, they have just been positioned in a way that confuses our brain.

As you can see, the cars are actually the same size (Big Motoring World)

If you're looking for some more illusions, why not try this tricky brain teaser which challenges you to find 'odd' letter within 13 seconds

And if that's too easy, this 'moving' optical illusion as people are challenged to make it stay still in 10 seconds

Were you able to work out that all of the cars in this image were the same size? Let us know in the comments.
