Mind-blowing 3p hack for banishing rust using one kitchen staple leaves people floored

Whether it's on your car or items throughout your home, you'll have tried many methods to get rid of rust. Often, no amount of scrubbing or elbow grease seems to remove the gruelling brown stains.

Thankfully, a savvy woman has left people floored after sharing an inexpensive life hack to rid of rust that people are classing as "unbelievable". And better yet, the item is most likely sat in the back of your kitchen cupboard - or will cost as little as 3p per use.

Diane - who boasts 150,000 followers on account @_zealously.mom - shared the jaw-dropping method to popular video-streaming service TikTok.

In the video, which has surpassed 1.2 million views since posting, Diane showed an easy method of banishing rust on silverware by using some tin foil.

Tearing off a piece of aluminium foil off of the roll, she screwed it in her palm before before scrubbing it against the rusty surface.

To her shock, the rust instantly lifted from the item and left it looking as good as new.

In the clip, Diane showed her shock against the voiceover: "You were today years old when you learned...

"Does anyone else know this life hack for getting rid of rust?" She asked.

After discovering the successful hack, Diane admitted that she was going to try the method out on her car.

Thankfully, the hack is budget-friendly and costs as little as 3p per use.

Asda's JUST ESSENTIALS range includes wrapping foil retails at just 68p per roll, equalling to 3.4p/mr.

Diane's hack had hundreds of viewers rushing to the comments to praise the hack - and were left gushing once they tried the hack out for themselves.

"I swear I learned more on this app in the past year than I have learned my entire life," one shocked user admitted.

A second person claimed: "Just tried it and IT WORKS! At first it looks like it's scratching the metal but it's black residue that you can wipe with a damp cloth."

"IT WORKS," a third agreed.

A different person suggested: "Dip it in coke cola or white wine vinegar."
