Minced beef and lamb products sold in Ireland recalled over labelling issues

A range of minced beef and minced lamb products sold in Ireland have been recalled due to labelling issues.

All dates of Halal Food and Grocery's Vacuum Packed Minced Lamb and Vacuum Packed Minced Beef are subject to the food safety alert.

Wrong labels and use-by dates were applied to the products which were supplied by Gill Venture Ltd in Clondalkin, Dublin.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland said the consumers should not use the mince products and retailers have been asked to remove them from sale.

A statement said: "Caterers should not use the implicated batches of vacuum packed minced lamb and vacuum packed minced beef.

"Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batches from sale and to display a point-of-sale recall notice in stores where these batches were sold.

"Wholesalers/distributors are requested to contact their customers and recall the affected batches and provide a point-of-sale notice to their retailer customers."
