Milton Scottish SPCA looking for a forever home for working terrier Sydney

Milton’s animal rehoming centre is looking for a patient and understanding owner to give a working terrier her forever home.

Patterdale terrier Sydney has had a tough start in life, and is a little bundle of energy and fun meaning she needs an owner with experience training and owning working dogs – after two previous rehoming attempts haven’t worked out.

Kim Mackrell, assistant manager at the facility, explained more about Sydney’s life – and who her ideal owner would be.

She said: “Unfortunately, this is Sydney’s third attempt at finding her forever home.

“For this reason, we are looking for her new owner to be highly experienced in training dogs, and know what it takes to own a working terrier.

“Sydney is friendly with most dogs, but will need further socialising with others.

“Ideally we would like for Sydney to go to an individual owner who can focus on the training she needs. Sydney would prefer a home with no other animals or visiting children.

“Because she is still so young, we believe that with the right owner to continue her training she will become the perfect companion.

“She loves the water, and will dive into puddles, paddling pools and sometimes even her water bowl.

“We are hoping to find the perfect match for Sydney. We want her to go to a home that can give her the start in life she didn’t get.”

If you think you could be Sydney’s new owner, please apply via the Scottish SPCA website: scottishspca.org/rehome-a-pet/3552-sydney.
