Milos Raonic hits 35 aces in straight-sets win over Marin Cilic

Milos Raonic reached the quarter-finals for the fifth time in six years with a 6-4 6-3 7-5 victory over Marin Cilic, who had treatment for a back problem in the second set.

Big-serving Canadian Raonic saved all four break points he faced and will take on either Novak Djokovic or Diego Schwartzman next.

Raonic’s service game was on-point throughout, with the 29-year-old hitting now fewer than 35 aces in the match.

"I'm just happy to be playing well, to be playing in this kind of atmosphere and this kind of support," said Raonic, a semi-finalist in Melbourne in 2016.

"It feels pretty damn good I've gotta say, I can't complain about it. It's been an exciting tournament for me so far and hopefully there are exciting things ahead."
