And one such Leeds United fan has done exactly that, by compiling a Whites' squad consisting entirely of Yorkshire-born players - including one superstar striker that surprisingly fits into the criteria.
The player's 20-man squad contains players born within the Broad Acres, including Daniel James (Hull), Kalvin Phillips (Leeds) and Mason Greenwood (Bradford).
Eyebrows will almost certainly be raised at the inclusion of Borussia Dortmund's star striker Erling Braut Haaland.
But he was born in Leeds in 2000 as his father Alf-Inge was playing at Elland Road at the time.
The Reddit user, posting an image of his Yorkshire-only squad, says Haaland is his key asset: "Hands down best player I've ever had on the game. Squad is pretty much The Erling Haaland Show.... and supporting cast.
"He's been PFA player of the year both seasons in the Prem, 49 goals last season. Without him I'd be scrapping it out near (the) bottom."
