Millwall shares crash after play-off defeat

Back when they were the bad boys of football, Millwall fans used to sing, "No one likes us but we don't care".

Shareholders in Millwall Holdings might not have such an insouciant attitude after shares in the football club's parent company halved today.

The reason seems clear: the London club failed in its bid for promotion to the Championship on Sunday when it lost the League One play-off to Scunthorpe.

The shares – which trade at a fraction of a penny – dropped from Friday night's close of 0.0415p to 0.021p today, making them the biggest faller on Aim.

That values the company at less than £8m.
