Millwall 'open talks' regarding Motherwell ace Allan Campbell

Motherwell star Allan Campbell has attracted interest from English Championship side Millwall.

The 22-year-old midfielder's contract with the Steelmen expires in the summer, which means he can now speak to clubs about a move elsewhere.

And The Scottish Sun claim that The Lions have "now opened talks" regarding the Scotland under-21 international.

It is reported that boss Gary Rowett is keen to make his move this month, but he faces competition from a number of clubs for his signature.

Campbell, who has netted twice in 21 appearances this season, is one of a number of Motherwell players mulling over a new contract offer from the Fir Park club, who are currently searching for a new manager following Stephen Robinson's resignation last week.

Keith Lasley has the role on an interim basis and was one of the candidates interviewed for the permanent role this week, alongside ex-St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright and former Scotland international Graham Alexander.

The Steelmen are expected to announce their new manager before Saturday's trip to St Mirren.
