Millwall injury update ahead of Nottingham Forest as Gary Rowett makes Leicester City admission

Millwall manager Gary Rowett has given the latest injury update on his squad ahead of the weekend’s fixture against Nottingham Forest.

Steve Cooper takes charge of his first Forest game on Saturday as he welcomes the Lions to the City Ground as the Reds look for their second win in as many weeks.

While Cooper has almost a full week to prepare his Forest squad, Millwall are in action tonight (Wednesday) as they take on Premier League side Leicester City at the Den in the Carabao Cup third round.

Ahead of that game, the Millwall boss has given the latest on the injury front, with defender Shaun Hutchinson set to make his return.

“Hutchy’s trained all week,” Rowett said following the draw vs Coventry (via NewsatDen).

I could’ve started him today but I felt that would be a step too quick when we’ve got Wednesday’s game.

“I think Danny McNamara should train Monday. Benik (Afobe) should train Monday. George Evans should train Monday,” he added.

Both Jed Wallace and Liverpool loanee Sheyi Ojo are set to miss the match vs Leicester due to illness, meaning that they could be a doubt for the clash vs Forest.

Rowett has admitted that he is likely to make changes for the game against Leicester.

“Wednesday we’ll put out a side there to try to win the game, but I don’t necessarily think that is a massive priority for us. But again, we want to try and win every game,” he added.
