Millwall hopeful of key player making injury return vs Nottingham Forest

Millwall could welcome the return of a key player for their clash against Nottingham Forest this week.

The Reds welcome the Lions to the City Ground on Friday night in their next match in the Sky Bet Championship.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side will be keen to get back to winning ways when they return to Trentside, after being held to a 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough in their previous outing on Monday night.

Millwall go into the fixture on the back of a 1-1 stalemate with Bristol City at the weekend, and are without a win in their last three matches.

Rowett has had to cope without Shaun Williams (hip), Ben Thompson (ankle) and Ryan Leonard (knee) due to respective injuries in recent months.

The Lions boss is hopeful of having Williams, who has scored in two of his last three appearances against Forest, available for the clash at the City Ground on Friday night.

"Thommo's not trained [fully] yet,” Rowett told News at Den .

He added: “Hopefully he will next week which will be positive. Again, we need to be patient, he's been out for a while.

"Lenny should train today, but one training session, one-and-a-half, before the game is a tough ask.

"Willo's trained twice. We have to assess what we think is reasonable, what we think we need for the game. We'll have to make a call on that ahead of the game."
