Millisle incident sees man taken to hospital

A man has been taken to hospital after an incident at a car park in Co Down .

Police said that they responded to a report of 'concern for the safety of a man' at around 12.30.

The air ambulance was called to the Ballywalter Road area and the man was treated on the scene by ambulance service staff before being taken to hospital.

A PSNI spokesman said: "Police received a report of concern for the safety of a man in the Main Street area of Millisle at approximately 12.30pm today.

"Police, along with emergency service colleagues, attended the scene and the man was subsequently taken to hospital. There are no further details."

An ambulance service spokesman sad: "The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 12.51 on Monday June 17 2019 relating to an incident at Ballywalter Road, Millisle.

"NIAS despatched two Emergency crews, two Rapid Response Paramedics. The Charity Air Ambulance was also despatched to the incident.

"Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was transferred to the Ulster Hospital , Dundonald."
