Million Pound Pawn viewers fear mum was 'ripped off' despite £155k offer on jewellery

Viewers were left in tears this evening during Million Pound Pawn as a mum discovered a watch and earrings were worth £155,000 - meaning that she could pay for her son's treatment.

However, they were equally concerned that she was offered much lower than the amount the jewellery was actually worth.

Fran Sawyer appeared on the new show to sell her belongings and raise money for her 16-year-old disabled son, who needs to see a nerve specialist.

Her son, who she is a full-time carer for, had been born with cancer and doctors feared he wouldn't live beyond the age of seven.

Meeting pawnbroker Dan, Fran handed over a Patek Philippe watch she had inherited from her uncle and a set of diamond earrings.

Fran had hoped to receive £15,000 for the watch and £2,000 for the earrings, but feared that both items might not be real.

Dan sought out advice from watch expert Josh, who confirmed that the watch was "without a doubt" the real thing and not one of the 40 million fakes made a year.

Fran feared that she wouldn't receive the £17,000 to fund her son's life-changing op, but was left utterly gobsmacked after being offered £75,000 for the earrings and £85,000 for the watch.

Stunned, Fran gasped: "No way. It just hasn’t gone in. Brilliant, I’m over the moon. I actually feel quite sick."

She added: "He's sitting there all white teeth smiling and I'm thinking, 'What’s he up to.]?' I felt like I was going to pass out and cry. I just cant believe it. It doesn’t happen to me."

Fran said that she would celebrate the win with a kebab and four beers and viewers were delighted for her.

One tweeted: "OMG Fran, £85,000 for the watch and she wasn’t sure if it was genuine or not! Bless her #MillionPoundPawn."

While another commented: "Wow 150k. I want to know how much she was expecting. So happy for her #millionpoundpawn."

A third wrote: "Anyone else crying at Fran on #millionpoundpawn."

However, others feared that Dan might have ripped Fran off with his offer as she failed to haggle.

Dan remained coy regarding the true valuation, teasing: "Is £155,000 a good deal for me? It's a nice deal. I'm glad to get it over the line for Fran’s sake. I've made a decent profit as well."

"Actually pleased for this lady but she was so stunned she forgot to haggle!! Ripped off. #millionpoundpawn," a viewer tweeted.

While another commented: "If that watch was worth 85k and those Earrings 55k to the pawn broker to buy and he then earns off it. Why isn't the seller taking them to auction and making more?"

A third wrote: "#MillionPoundPawn She should have gone to auction with the #philippepatex."
