Chelsea's Millie Bright and Pernille Harder named in FIFA's The Best XI of 2020

Chelsea stars Millie Bright and Pernille Harder have been named in the FIFPro/FIFA The Best XI of the year.

The pair were nominated on the long list alongside team-mates Ann-Katrin Berger, Ji So Yun, Bethany England, Magda Eriksson and Erin Cuthbert.

And at tonight's ceremony in Zurich they were revealed to have made the cut.

Harder did, however, miss out on the Player of the Year award - finishing second behind Women's Super League rival Lucy Bronze of Manchester City.

Harder signed for Chelsea in summer 2020 for what is believed to be a record transfer fee in the women's game, having enjoyed a record-breaking spell in Germany with Wolfsburg. The Dane is the first woman to win the UEFA Player of the Year award twice.

Bright has just marked six years at the club, during which she has also become a mainstay of the Lionesses defence.

The team is voted for by professional players from around the world, and recognise achievements from July 2019 to October 2020.

This year's winners are: Christiane Endler, Lucy Bronze, Wendie Renard, Millie Bright, Delphine Cascarino, Barbara Bonansea, Veronica Boquete, Megan Rapinoe, Pernille Harder, Vivianne Miedema, Tobin Heath.

Other winners included future Lionesses coach Sarina Wiegman, named best women's coach of the year, and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, the best men's coach of the year.

Blues coach Emma Hayes had been shortlisted for best women's coach of the year.
