Millie Bobby Brown nearly quit acting after being rejected from major Game of Thrones role

Millie Bobby Brown has revealed that she considered quitting acting after she was rejected from a Game of Thrones role.

At the age of just 16, Millie has already featured in a number of iconic roles, like her most recent stint as Enola Holmes and Eleven in Stranger Things.

But when she was rejected for a part in HBO's hit show Game of Thrones, she was "disheartened", and almost never pursued acting.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Millie opened up about rejection in the acting industry and how much it affected her when she'd just started out.

Early on in her career she auditioned for the part of Lyanna Mormont, the head of House Mormont.

But the part was instead given to Bella Ramsey, who played the character throughout seasons 6 to 8.

She said: "I think I was just very disheartened by the rejection, which is something I tell everyone.

"This industry is just full of rejection. You get no's, a lot of no's, before you get a yes."

Two months later she landed the role of Eleven in Stranger Things (Warner Bros)

Speaking about auditioning for Game of Thrones, she explained: "I got a no for that. That’s kind of when I was like, 'Oh, this is really difficult,' and I guess I really wanted that role.”

Thankfully, she didn't give up, because two months later she landed her role as Eleven on Stranger Things and is now filming series four of the Netflix sci-fi show.

Millie teased fans with what's to come from the new series, and said she is just desperate for her character Eleven to marry Mike (Finn Wolfhard).

In an interview with Glamour, Millie said all she wants is for Eleven to be happy, and that by marrying Mike, whom she says her character loves, she will be over the moon.
