Millie Bobby Brown allegedly accused David Harbour of 'harassment and bullying' during Stranger Things

More bad news for David Harbour has broken ahead of the fifth and final season of Netflix’s hit show Stranger Things.

Millie Bobby Brown, 21, allegedly filed a claim against her 50-year old co-star for his behaviour towards her, reportedly prompting an internal inquiry from the streaming giant.

The British actor was just 11 years old when she was cast as escaped psychokinetic experiment Eleven in the show. Her character is eventually adopted by Harbour’s character, police chief Jim Hopper, and changes her name to Jane Hopper.

“Millie Bobby Brown filed a harassment and bullying claim before they started shooting the last season,” a source told the Mail on Sunday. “There were pages and pages of accusations. The investigation went on for months.” The accusations are understood to not include any claims of sexual misconduct.

During the filming of the last season of Stranger Things, the source continued, Brown Bongiovi was accompanied on set by a personal representative.

Netflix has not commented on the internal investigation, which is reported to have have taken months to complete. Stranger Things, which first aired in 2016, has become the streaming service’s tentpole show. It rapidly became the studio’s most-streamed original show, spawning a franchise that includes a play at London’s Phoenix Theatre called Stranger Things: The First Shadow.

Stranger Things season five will be released in two parts from the end of November. The first four episodes will premiere on November 27, the next three on Boxing Day, with the finale airing on New Year’s Day 2026.

Harbour has already been dogged by allegations of infidelity against his ex-wife Lily Allen, after the British singer released her blistering new album West End Girl last month.

The American actor had languished in bit parts until his star rose when he was cast as gruff yet cuddly Chief Hopper. He has since gone on to be cast in major roles, including Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian in Marvel’s cinematic universe, appearing in films such as Black Widow, Thunderbolts* and Avengers: Doomsday.

He has cultivated a public image of a family man, aided by becoming a stepfather to Allen’s teenage daughters from a previous marriage. Allen and Harbour met on celebrity dating app Raya and married in Vegas in 2020.

They reportedly split last year after four years of marriage, following allegations Harbour had betrayed the terms of their open marriage arrangement, starting while the singer was in London starring in 2:22 A Ghost Story on the West End. The former couple are reportedly selling the £6 million Brooklyn townhouse they purchased and redecorated together.

Brown Bongiovi became Stranger Things’ most bankable stars, with a current estimated net worth of £24 million.

She married Jake Bon Jovi, son of Jon Bon Jovi, in secret in last year and the couple recently adopted a baby girl together.

The Standard has reached out to Netflix for comment.
