Mill catches fire in Rochdale - keep your doors and windows shut

A mill caught fire in Rochdale.

Six fire engines were scrambled to a fire at Fothergill Engineered Fabrics, Ealees, Littleborough, shortly after 1pm this afternoon (Thursday).

People who live nearby are being urged to keep their doors and windows closed.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 1.06 to the Ealees area of Littleborough to a fire at a mill.

"Six fire engines, two breathing apparatus and a hose reel were used.

"The incident is ongoing."

The fire is out, a member of staff told the Manchester Evening News.

It is understood that no one was hurt during the incident.
