Milkshake shop in south Bristol closes permanently

A milkshake parlour in south Bristol has closed permanently.

Shake Express opened on North Street in May 2018 in the space left behind D.R Butt butchers, which shut up shop in October 2017.

The family-run business, which launched its first branch in Braintree before expanding to Bristol, offered a range of more than 100 milkshake varieties.

Customers could ask for their favourite chocolate bar to me made into a shake or go for classic flavours such as banana or strawberry.

To accompany the milkshakes there was a range of snacks to choose from, as well as a selection of hot drinks for the colder months.

Buoyed by the early success of the Bedminster branch, the family launched a third Shake Express in Keynsham in November 2018.

While the North Street site has closed, Shake Express in Braintree and Keynsham are still trading.

There is good news for residents in south Bristol though, as a replacement for the business has already been lined up.

A poster has appeared in the window of the premises advertising Yafo - a restaurant that will serve Middle Eastern street food and craft beer.

More information about Yafo can be found on its Instagram page.
