Milkmen arrested after 'disagreement in the street' at 3.30am

Police in Northumbria arrested two milkmen following a "disagreement in the street" in the dead of night.

The pair – who were both in their 40s and operating two separate milk floats – were arrested after trading threats on Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the scene on Hylton Lane, Sunderland, after receiving a report of a disturbance at 3.30am.

Both milkmen have since been released on bail, reports ChronicleLive.

Northumbria Police said they are continuing to investigate the incident.

A police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 3.30am on Tuesday we received a report of a disturbance on Hylton Lane, Sunderland.

“It was reported that two men and a teenager on two separate milk floats had a disagreement in the street with threats made to each other.

"Nobody was injured.

“Two men – aged 49 and 40 – were arrested in connection with the incident and have since been released on police bail."

"Enquiries are ongoing into the nature of the disturbance".
