Cops are on the hunt for thieves who are on the early morning prowl in Falkirk stealing from doorsteps.

Officers say that they've received a numerous reports about milk and groceries being taken from doorsteps in Polmont over the past few weeks.

The incidents are said to be happening early in the morning shortly after the items are delivered.

Locals have taken to social media to blast those responsible.

One said: "My mum's milk and eggs have gone again, this is the third time in the space of a week.

"I get my mum's items delivered because she is not mobile and therefor can't leave the house.

"My husband and I work so can't pop in first thing. I wish whoever is doing this would stop it, you just don't know who you are stealing from.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We have been made aware of reports in recent weeks of theft of milk and groceries in the Polmont area.

"The thefts have occurred early in the morning following delivery of the items.

"If you have any info in relation to these thefts please email: LowerBraesCPT@scotland.pnn.police.uk."
