'Military grade' rocket launcher found in cannabis farm

A man was arrested after a rocket launcher was found at a cannabis farm.

Police raided an address on Windy Arbour Road, Whiston on October 10. Inside the property, officers located a large cannabis farm with "ready for sale" cannabis.

During the search, specially trained officers were called to the scene after a "military grade" rocket launcher was discovered. The weapon was found to have been decommissioned and was being kept as a "souvenir".

It was also found that the electrics to the property had been bridged, making them unsafe. A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis, possession with intent to supply and a weapons offence.

A statement from Merseyside Police said: "Officers attended an address yesterday on Windy Arbour Road during which a cannabis farm was located along with a large amount of ready for sale cannabis. The electrics to the property were also bridged and had to be made safe by Scottish Power.
