Military aircraft have been seen flying in the skies above Greater Manchester again.
Since lockdown began, the RAF has been taking advantage of clear skies and empty runways across the region.
This morning (Thursday), planespotters were treated to a glimpse of a C-130J Hercules.
The aircraft was spotted travelling close to Manchester Airport, as well as in Tameside.
It travelled to Manchester from the RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.
According to a post on the station's Facebook page, the C-103J Hercules will also be operating in the areas of Prestwick and Guernsey.
The post confirmed the flight was routine - and not in relation to the UK coronavirus pandemic.
It said: "This morning, our C-130J Hercules aircraft will be operating in the vicinity of Manchester, Prestwick and Guernsey, whilst engaged in essential training.
"These are necessary, routine, flights and not connected with RAF support to the UK's fight against Coronavirus."
According to the RAF website, the Hercules is the RAF's primary transport aircraft and is used in countries or regions where there is a threat to air traffic.
In recent weeks, Red Arrows Hawk, a Chinook and a C-17 Globemaster have also been spotted flying over the region.
