Milingimbi Island, the largest of the Northern Territory’s Crocodile Islands off the coast of Arnhem Land, has had a strong artistic community since the 1950s.
This exhibition showcases the gallery’s collection of bark paintings, weavings and wooden sculptures from the community, highlighting the diversity and quality of the works produced. It is centred around three of the most prominent island artists, Binyinyuwuy, Lipundja and Djawa, alongside with work from other resident artists.
