Miley Cyrus has spoken out after a fan grabbed her and pulled her towards him as she left her hotel in Spain.
A video circulating on social media showed a stranger in the screaming crowd reach out to pull Cyrus in for a kiss, with the artist quickly moving her head away before being led out of harm’s way.
As many people sent Cyrus messages of support over what had happened, as well as criticising the “fan” for their actions, a few took the opportunity to accuse Cyrus of “asking for it” because of her clothes and song lyrics.
“She can be wearing what she wants. She can be a virgin. She can be sleeping with 5 different people,” Cyrus wrote on Twitter.
“She can be with her husband. She can be with her girlfriend. She can be naked. She CAN’T be grabbed without her consent. #DontF***WithMyFreedom.”
The She Is Coming singer then shared a screenshot of nasty comments, writing: “Don’t f*** with my freedom. #stillnotaskingforit.”
Cyrus also shared the same posts, including the video of the incident, on her Instagram page.
In the viral footage, Cyrus managed to turn her head and alert husband Liam Hemsworth to what had happened, with her husband quickly putting his arm around her.
A source later told E! News that Cyrus "always respects her fans" but was "unsettled" by what had happened. The insider added that Cyrus was "doing fine" after the incident.
Cyrus was in Barcelona last week to headline Primavera music festival, taking the top slot over from Cardi B earlier this year.
